FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC AGRICULTURAL CAUCUS ENDORSES JASON BELLAMY-FULTS FOR FLORIDA SENATE, DISTRICT 6
LABELLE, FL — Today, the Florida Democratic Agricultural Caucus (FDAC) announced its endorsement of Jason Bellamy-Fults for Florida Senate, District 6, ahead of the November 3 general election.
The Florida Democratic Agricultural Caucus (FDAC) endorsed Jason Bellamy-Fults based on his responses to a detailed FDAC questionnaire addressing a range of Florida agricultural issues, including rural communities; food security; farm labor; agricultural land preservation; environmental stewardship; climate resilience; invasive pests and diseases; and agricultural research and innovation.
“Jason Bellamy-Fults understands the statewide significance of Florida agriculture and rural issues, particularly the need to keep the food we buy affordable and healthy, ensure that families can earn a proper living from their farms, preserve agricultural lands against urban sprawl, and improve our farms and ranches so they are environmentally sustainable. Harmful algae blooms and red tides we see on our beaches and waterways are caused by nutrient pollution from multiple sources, particularly from our farmlands and urban areas. We must make dramatic progress on both fronts if we want to improve and preserve our farms and our environment,” said Dr. John Capece, FDAC President.
“Jason understands how the decisions of the Florida Legislature directly impact food costs and farm economics. Those realities are the pillars of our food security. He is also sensitive to the fact that agriculture affects water quality, climate change, and the natural habitats outside our cities.”

Florida Senate District 6 includes Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Gilchrist, and Union counties and part of Alachua County.
